COMMENTS: With Strong to Very Strong themes, Halloween is a Horror Thriller drama about an escaped mental asylum prisoner Michael Myers, deranged serial killer (the 'boogie-man') who killed his sister when he was just 6 years old. In the process of being transferred to another maximum security prison facility he escapes to go on a killing spree with his killing mask on, when he mingles amongst party goers also wearing Halloween masks. He has not spoken in 40 years and the film is fraught with threat and menace throughout. The murders are multiple and graphic, brutal, gory and gruesome. Other complex and mature themes explored are: the mind of a serial killer and predator, captivity, 'rehabilitation' and chained patients, vengeance and revenge, tying up loose ends as well as investigative journalism, family dynamics, and finally teamwork to kill the 'boogie man'. The graphic nature of the Violence could cause moral, psychological and emotional harm to children.
