COMMENTS: The film contains family - friendly themes presented in a an animated context. The themes are of friendship, belonging, standing up for what is important, connection, teamwork, the good values, fun, laughter, gnomes versus trogs and saving the world. The themes in the film carry a low sense of threat and menace which could potentially arouse fear to the younger viewers, e.g. with scenes of Chloe and her friends being attacked by the trogs. Although the themes are of a fantastical nature, younger viewers might not yet have the ability to make sense of such scenes on their own. However, the themes carry a comedic element which helps mitigate the impact. A PG rating would be suitable as parental guidance is vital as it would provide reassurance and help the younger viewers in recognising the context.
