COMMENTS: The film is about apes and humans who have to co-exist on planet earth. The humans believe the apes carry a virus that turn them into beasts and want to wipe them out, using the army. The apes are not ordinary animals. They can talk, feel emotions and plan strategies to attack and escape. During the escape they find a girl who cannot talk and take them with her because she would die alone in the woods. When the apes are surrounded they try to escape but are captured and tortured. A group of apes try to free them.

Themes are mature and complex and include a war between humans and apes, battles, capture, survival, escape, protecting one's species, loyalty, betrayal, unity and good conquers evil, that children under 13 would find threatening, disturbing and distressing.
